A Throwback Field Day in photos

We recently hosted a 130-person field day in Arizona for a major US insurance company. A few weeks earlier, we organized a similar event for the same Client’s Atlanta employees, and this one was a team build for their Phoenix office. Here’s how the epic 3-hour event went down.

The buses arrived to the field with teams hyped for an afternoon of friendly, competitive play. Players were equipped with custom t-shirts, creative team names, and excitement for the color war to begin.

With our Client’s input, we crafted an itinerary of games that were a mix of brawn and brains. Throwback coaches led the teams through these games across several different stations that kept gameplay headcount small and informal while also allowing for a variety of team-to-team matchups.

This team was ready to be extra active so we brought in the big guns of tug-o-war and a giant inflatable obstacle course.

We also had some totally mental games like Suko, a numbers-based logic puzzle. Other games were our own, crowd-favorite creations that are always adaptable to groups’ desired level of activeness and strategy.

Since the nearly 3-hour event is longer than our typical 90-minute field day, we included a passive station to give teams a break without sacrificing the opportunity to relax and socialize. Players were free to play one of the several lawn games we had set up, or just grab a snack or drink.

At the end, after an intense tiebreaker and a final score tally, the “Channel 3 News Team” finished on top and were crowned field day winners over the 7 other competitors.

After an old school ‘good game’ line and group photo, the team headed to the bar to wrap up an awesome and memorable day. Our client was kind enough to leave us a 5-star review on Google…

“Our office Field Day was curated by Throwback Fitness and it was spectacular. Over 120 participants were completely engaged and walked through the event. 10/10 would recommend!!”
