Field Day Recap: Throwback comes to Boston

Last month, our second-time client, Uppababy, hired Throwback to treat their Boston employees to an exhilarating field day, bringing together 130 team members together for a morning of friendly competition and camaraderie. The goal… foster collaboration and bonding among the company's workforce while providing a fun and memorable experience. Let’s delve into some highlights of this awesome event.

The day began with a buzz of excitement as the teams gathered on the field. With careful consideration of Uppababy's preferences, we crafted an action-packed itinerary of games that combined both physical prowess and mental acuity. After a few pregame team photos, we were off!

To ensure everyone had a chance to participate fully, the games were set up across several stations, allowing for small, informal groupings that encouraged cross-team interaction. Throwback coaches led the teams through each challenge, infusing the atmosphere with an extra dose of enthusiasm and nostalgia.

Some of the day's highlights included ‘Battlechips’, a playful Throwback favorite that puts teams’ agility to the test. No Throwback event is complete without some game show inspiration, so one station featured ‘Pong Feud’, a Family Feud contest featuring elements of beer pong and corn hole.

There was also our scavenger hunt inspired relay, ‘Clue Minefield’ as well as ‘Fishing For A Chain Reaction’, another puzzle-based challenge new in our game repertoire. Throwback’s unique creations injected an element of surprise and ensured that no participants had an experience advantage over others.

For an extra dose of nostalgia, we played some classics like ‘Egg and Spoon Race’ along with ‘Tug-o-war’

Knowing that a hot summer event requires an active break or two, we brought everyone together to sit down and compete in our final, music trivia game, Showdown.

After a point recap, the orange and green teams were tied. We settled the score with a final tug-o-war matchup with the orange team emerging as final victors!

After the 'good game' high-five line and a group photo, the Uppababy team headed to lunch. They left the field with deeper connections with their colleagues, friendly office banter for days to come, and anticipation for next year’s rematch.
