Beer Mile, Tequila Burpees and Other RyBri Throwdowns

Sticking with our mantra of making exercise fun, the two of us like to compete against each other in unusual and sometimes quirky workouts.  The first was over the summer when we completed the Beer Mile.  This consists of 4 laps around a 400m track.  The catch is, you have to down a full (non-light) beer before each lap.  This proved to be even worse than it sounds, especially with Bud Heavy!

The difficult part was not the alcohol (we didn't feel a buzz until we were finished), but trying to run with 4 carbonated drinks in your stomach!  We can both run under 6 minute miles but with beer those times more than doubled.  Ryan finished in 11:04 and Brian finished in 15:02.  Check out below for our recap video and post competition interview.

If you've been to a class recently, you would have noticed a bottle of Patron that's been sitting in a cubby for quite some time.  This was gifted to us by one of our partners, Athletes Club, and for our latest Throwdown we thought we'd put it to good use.

We decided to put a spin on one of our favorite workouts, 100 burpees as fast as possible.  Except that this time, we had to take a shot of tequila every 90 seconds. Here, the alcohol had the opposite effect of the beer and we both finished faster than we have ever completed 100 burpees... Brian in 4:38 and Ryan in 5:22.

We're in the process of trying to come up with new similar workouts.  We're pretty daring, so if you have any ideas for something you'd like to see us attempt, please send our way!
